Lt Col Weiss’ 25-year career as a civilian automotive engineer covers Product Development and Manufacturing Facilities Engineering. He is known as a subject matter expert in on-board diagnostic (OBD) methodologies and technology and serves in a leadership role on the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). His extensive automotive experience includes managing technical and regulatory aspects of OBD on a wide range of vehicle platforms, including diesel and hybrid, for Ford, GM, Cummins, FCA, and Mahindra. Weiss sees opportunities to leverage OBD methodologies toward increasingly complex military vehicles, resulting in more robust response to malfunctions/noise factors, fewer false failure occurrences and rapid in-field fault identification and repair.
Lt Col Weiss’ 21-year military career encompasses 7 years of active duty associated with scientific and technical intelligence (S&TI) which involved reverse engineering foreign missile systems. He also served 14 years as a reservist in various roles, including leading a squadron of reservists in the Integrated Air Defense Systems (IADS) Analysis Squadron, Air and Cyber Intelligence Group (ACG), National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC), Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (AFB). He has also served as an Intelligence Officer with the 927th Air Refueling Wing (ARW) and as Eurasia Branch Chief and Joint Operations Officer as part of Joint Reserve Intelligence Support Element (JRISE) at Selfridge Air National Guard Base. He held a Top Secret SCI clearance and garnered awards such as the Defense Meritorious Service Medal.
Lt Col Weiss has a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from University of Michigan and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from University of Dayton. He was Lead Inventor, US Patent #8244427, Modular Temperature Performance Diagnostic for a Vehicle and Coauthor: Defensive Publication, Hybrid high Voltage Battery Pack Voltage Lid Performance Diagnostic. Weiss is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt with experience performing industry process improvement projects. In addition to SAE, he is a member of the National Defense Industry Association and the American Legion.

Ms. Weiss is a versatile, well-rounded project manager with proven experience wrangling complex projects. She is also known for track record delivering dynamic business growth assisting firms with diversification of solutions and clients. Weiss has worked across sectors including manufacturing, non-profit agencies, and government service. Most recently she has managed business development and managed projects in the financial services and legal industry with the Orlans Group of firms, including contract management and legal process outsourcing. Weiss worked with defense manufacturing and technology firms at the University of Michigan, managing a portfolio of business assistance core strengthening and diversification projects with a federal grant and providing advisory services. Early in her career she also performed lifecycle management for information systems for a classified missile defense program.
During her MBA program, she assisted a United Way program with two start-up non-profit programs, achieving the Award for Excellence in National Service in 2015. Weiss served in state and local government positions for 10 years, including as a legislative director at the Michigan House of Representatives and as an appointed planning commissioner for Michigan’s largest township. Her greatest achievement at the Legislature was overhauling the state contracting process to provide more accountability with legislation that passed with a 100% bi-partisan vote. Weiss also has a passion for autism advocacy with her daughter and promotes neurodiversity inclusion in the professional workforce.
Weiss has a Bachelor of Science in Decision Science and Master of Business Administration in Supply Chain/Operations Management and a certificate in Social Entrepreneurship from Indiana University, Kelley School of Business. She has the following certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP), Commercial and Contract Management Practitioner (CCMP), Six Sigma Green Belt, and Master Citizen Planner. Weiss is a member of the Project Management Institute, International Association of Commercial and Contract Management and Michigan Lean Consortium.
